Become a member of city hall’s newest online publication. Signal Toronto is an on-the-pulse news site about politics and policy at city hall. We are an independent digital news platform with a mission to publish intelligent, thoughtful, original, and inspiring stories about local government. All of our financial support comes from readers; we are not affiliated with any political parties.
In the two years since starting, we’ve published hundreds of news and analysis pieces on the website and in our highly circulated newsletter (the Weekend Newsbrief). Our aim is for our readers to leave the site with a stronger connection to the city, and be more knowledgeable about how decisions are made at city hall. We reach thousands of Torontonians every month, including many politicians, key decisions-makers, experts in policy as well as young savvy urbanites who want a different angle on municipal issues.
Signal Toronto is part of the new movement of digital journalism dedicated to providing insight into how decisions are made in politics and policy. We strive to add depth to the news and information about city hall, the politicians, the policies, and the systems that run our city.
We are a hyperlocal digital site that informs people of the local democratic process that affects their daily lives – while keeping politicians, governments, and businesses accountable to the public. We want to help readers connect with their neighbourhoods and communities so they know what’s going on, and how to make their voices heard.
For $5 a month readers have access to all of Signal Toronto’s content, as well as our signature newsletter – the Signal Toronto Newsbrief.
Subscribe today! If you are able, consider helping Signal expand by buying a subscription for a friend or family member. Because coverage of our elected local government is important.
